This is cotton floche on linen. The edge is buttonholed, then a few rows of filet crochet (perle cotton, sorry I forget which size), then a tatted edge. A gift for a dear friend.
The inner edge is a braided plait stitch, which I found on Mary Corbet’s excellent YouTube channel.
